Anyone catch 60 minutes last Sunday? There was a story about some lady truck-driver who bought a painting at a thrift store in San Bernadino for five bucks. She was going to give it to a friend as a joke. The friend didn't want it. Then it got stored in an attic for two decades and finally was put out at her own garage sale. An art-historian recognized it and said it could be a Jackson Pollack. She was like, "Who the fuck is Jacson Pollack?"
She did some detective work and had a fingerprint on the back matched to one on one of Jackson's paintcans in the Jackson Pollack museum. Half the people say it's real and if so is worth about 50 MILLION bucks. the other half say it's just a copy of his wierd splatter-style. She's already turned-down an offer of two million for it.
Anyway, strange find.
